Who We Are

The Geological Society of Korea aims to contribute both to the academic community and the general public through the promotion and advancement of research on the geological sciences and the development of geological technology.

To achieve these aims, we support:

  • Conferences, symposia, seminars, field trips and technical courses
  • Publication of journals, technical notes and books
  • Network-building for collaboration among academia, industries and research organizations
  • Academic exchanges between domestic and overseas researchers
  • Educational programs with a sound scientific and technical basis
  • Government-funded projects, including the safety evaluation project on radioactivity disposal facilities, the management and operation plan for geological parks, and the training program for resources exploration
